If I heard it right on the radio, Jude had 18 carries for I think 115 yds. He broke one long run in the first half for about 55 of it. This was a good game between two pretty evenly matched teams. Belfry moved the ball fairly well but struggled in the red zone. Not a lot of possessions as both teams play ball control and eat up clock.

Lets see. Belfry beat Ashland. Ashland beats Johnson C. And now Johnson C beats Belfry.

How many yards did Jude need coming in to break the record?

I think he needed about 240.

 

WSIP, Paintsvilles radio station had Jude for 128 tonight.

 

So he is somewhere around 110-125 short of the record, give or take a few.

Johnson Central had a good game plan tonight, they beat Belfry with other runners using Jude on fakes. Belfry played uncharacteristically sloppy, had several penalties and did not tackle well at all. Credit JC's runners with a lot of that, all those guys run hard and low and you cannot bring them down if you don't wrap up at first contact. Again it was uncommon for Belfry to lose the battle in the trenches, but JC won that one, IMO.
