Week 10 games question

Featured Replies

With there being no district games in week 10, as mandated by KHSAA, how do teams approach those games.

Do you rest your starters and get healthy, play it straight up, play starters for a half? How important is this game in the grand scheme of things? I realize winning this game may help break a 3 way tie for district seeding but barring that how do you play it.

I'm asking because for the last few years Somerset, the team I follow, has had a bye week during the last week of the season. This year as an example Somerset travels to Perry Central. This game means little except bragging rights. Neither team would be expected to break out anything new prior to the playoffs.

Just curious how everyone looks at these games.

Somebody needs to tell the contest mods, they all think it is week 11 also

I edited it. As for the contest mods, we go by the week number, not the KHSAA number. After all, it would sound weird if we had "Week 0 Pick 10".

I think it simply depends on your seeding and situation...

Some coaches like their bye week right before the playoffs to get everyone healthy. I prefer it mid-season because too often teams come out of it sluggish. No good.
