Walton Verona 48 Carroll County 14

Featured Replies

4-1 and they have another tough challenge next week against Owen County!

Based on what I saw in the Owen County/Bellevue game last night, should be a heck of a game. Just to let you know, Owen likes to pass the ball a little. If my memory is right, I believe that they only ran the ball two or three times until the last few minutes of the fourth quarter. Good luck next week.

I look forward to watching this game.:thumb:

Walton Verona has come along way in the last four weeks. NKY.com reported they had 432 yards rushing. This is very impressive against any undefeated team. I would be curious what kind of yardage they held Carroll County to.

Defense allowed one touchdown and the 2nd team defense allowed another. The defense was smothering and the offense exploded right out of the gate putting up 34 points by the half.

Bearcats came fast and furious in this game. The Bellevue opener is zero indication of how this team is playing. The offense is clicking and the defense is playing extremely well.

Owen is big up front and likes to throw the ball. I hear Owen has a really nice receiver that is a playmaker. Definite change of pace from the running games they have faced to this point. This game will likely determine district champ.

Did Butcher play for Carroll Co in this one?

Yes he did play and for most of the game.

Sounds about right in regards to the winner of the WV/OC game winning the district. From what WV has done since the Bellevue game, I would think huge improvements have been made. After seeing the way Bellevue looked against Owen County and how WV dominated Dayton a couple of weeks back, I'm still amazed that Bellevue even beat WV.

29 carries 129 yards.....20 of those carries were probably in the first half.

This is an impressive win for Walton. If Walton plans on beating Owen, the better practice their pass coverages this week. I saw the Owen/Bellevue game and Owen runs a sort of west coast offense and isn't afraid to take a few shots down field with their tall receiver.
