Ludlow/Bethlehem predictions

The Eagles make their longest road trip in a season full of long road trips to take on the Panthers.

The Eagles are a young team still finding their way after graduating a big group of seniors from last year, so it's tough to get a read on them. They do use a modified version of the Tony Franklin System and have shown some improvement in their running and passing game in recent weeks.

Don't know much about the Panthers. Can anyone provide some info?

Correct me if I'm wrong, but I'm pretty sure Ludlow hasn't made any noise in ever. Or at least my lifetime.

Depends what exactly you mean by noise? Ludlow did win the state championship in 1975. Then for many years played in the toughest districts in the state in 1A. They had to compete in a district with Beechwood who is always one of the best 1A teams, and NCC who use to be 1A and was one of the best. Then when Holy Cross started to get going, they were one of the better 1A teams too. Ludlow had many good teams, that just never really did much because Beechwood or NCC would come out of the district. 1999 Ludlow probably had a top five team in the state, but no one would ever know that because NCC and Beechwood were in the district. So if what you mean by noise is making deep state playoff runs, then no but not many teams would being in a district for many years with two of the top teams. Since 2006 NCC and Holy Cross moved up so the district did get easier but still has Beechwood in it. Who is always one of the top two teams in the state. So that is who comes out of the district usually. However Ludlow has had many good teams through the years, but did have a down year this year. This year they have talent, but still kinda putting it together because they lost a few key players from last year. However each week they have improved and gotten better, which is the key.

Thanks for the history lesson, I never really thought of it that way:thumb:. Is Rick Hornsby(sp?) still the HC?

Go Panthers! Represent NKY Football. Best in the State!

According to their page on the KHSAA site, yes.

Yes he is. I believe this is his 4th year as the head coach at Ludlow? He took them to the playoffs two out of the first three, and has won a playoff game with them. This should be a good game with two teams who look to be improving.

From my understanding both teams are struggling this year, so unless you are a die hard fan or alum of either school, I'd save your $$ and just wait for updated on BGP. But, being from Northern Kentucky, I'll take Ludlow to win this game

There is really no need for that type of comment on here. Players do read these things, and just no need to come on here and say how people shouldn't come see these teams. Just giving your prediction for the game would have been just fine, there was no need for that added stuff. Very classless and just no need. Your better than that....

I just like to be honest. That's it, it's nothing personal against the kids from Ludlow or Bethlehem. I was just telling the casual fan if you are looking for a game to go to this Friday, I would pick another game in Northern Kentucky.

Most people who like to go to football games, are usually up to date on how teams are doing already. So there is no real reason to say that on here. That's good that you like to be honest, however it is not like someone asked you if you thought they should go. You brought it up on your own. With so many players reading this site these days, there is no reason to say how people shouldn't pay money to go see these teams. These players are the one's going through it, and know more about it than anyone during a tough start. If someone asked you then I could understand, however there was just no point to it. Especially when most of your comments like that always seem to come in certain teams threads...
