On the Rise: Covington Catholic (Covington, Ky.). Thanks to a strong showing by St. Xavier (Louisville, Ky.), Kentucky has three teams in this week's POWERADE FAB 50 -- and oddly none were the preseason favorite. By virtue of winning the Kentucky Cup, Covington Catholic has earned the state's top ranking on the field for now, and with it a No. 23 position in this week's POWERADE FAB 50.

A 2-0 showing by St. Xavier in Ohio helps vault Covington Catholic -- which won the Land Rover Kentucky Cup over a field that included St. Xavier -- into this week's top 25.

 

25 Trinity (Louisville, Ky.) 5-0-0 NR

Trinity gets a slight nod for being undefeated in Kentucky right now. But the truth is its biggest matches are yet to come -- starting Tuesday against Collegiate.

 

27 St. Xavier (Louisville, Ky.) 6-1-1 NR

Tonight must have been a really good soccer game between CCH and Ryle. Ends in 1-1 tie.
