Rules question

I was under the impression that in high school, and extra point could not be returned to the opposite endzone for 2 points. However in the Billy Ryan (TX) vs. Sulpher Springs (TX) a player did return a fumbled snap for 2 points. What is the rule on that? Can you return an extra point to the opposite endzone for 2?
