Raceland 29 East Carter 9

As Rams68 stated the Raceland special team play left not only some, but everything to be improved on with the one exception of the onsides kick to start the 2nd half. Two fumbles, giving up a kick return for a td is not going to get it done. Young team, early in the season and I am looking foward to seeing this teams improvement when district play begins.

Reed is on his way to one heck of senior year!!! Congrats Rams on the "W"... East has some play makers, but their lines need to improve, but it is early and Raceland is one of the better teams they will face this year.
Wing T, the WLGC radio crew commented on the improvement at East Carter, it's a tough way to start a season for the Raiders with Raceland and Fairview. East will get nothing but better.

As I said, your kids were still playing hard on the last series as well as the first. Good luck to East the rest of the way out.

the stars stood out for Raceland, but I was impressed with Nethercutt, he ran strong crisp routes, and seemed to catch everything thrown his way, I do not think he will burn it down field, but his route running will allow him to get seperation and be a highly productive member of the WR crew, and he blocked well on run plays.

On a side note it was reported that the Rams/Rambler reunion went very well with over 250 former players, coaches coming in for it and the game along with many other Raceland alums and fans.

KUDO's to the RAMS TOUCHOWN CLUB and BGP'S Ram for getting this thing organized and making it a sucsess. :thumb:

Thanks oldrambler, wish you could have been there. The Reunion went great, the number was more like 300 with final numbers. Everyone had a great time, many people wanted the thank the Touchdown Club for having the event, some had tears in their eyes as they expressed themselves. A great event.

Coach Conley, Coach Heck, Coach Ross, Coach Holtzaphel, Coach Stanley, Coach Pack, Coach Vanderhoof, spindoc, and many more were all there.

The Young Rams had some hiccups, but honestly, they played better then I expected in the first game. There are some very young players playing a lot, and they stepped up and played better then was expected. The defense was very good against a good running game. The offense, was ahead of what I expected, that was what I was worried about. Special teams, well, they need work, and will cost us games if it's not fixed.

East Carter has improved a great deal from last season, and will improved a lot more over this season and the next. They are still a young team as well, and they will surprise some people, hopefully this week. Get ready Raiders, the Rams are pulling for your first big victory against Fairview.

Congrats to my adopted Rams...keep it going next week against Ashland!!

I thought we played superbly. We will get better and I am excited to watch this team mature. Next week will be very tough on us but after that.........well, let's just say I am in full anticipation.

East Carter is much improved and has an excellent coaching staff. They will only get better. It was good to see CatsCats Cats as well. Wish you were in Orange buddy. LOL

Raceland and Fairview are good teams, but for a school of East's size they should be able to complete with class A schools from their area.

I really don't get caught up on the size of the school, the way I see it, it only makes a difference when there is a very large difference in the numbers. And even then, mostly, all I see it as, is an excuse. Maybe it's just me.
