Somerset 40 West Jessamine 19

Featured Replies

Good opener for the Jumpers. They made a few mental mistakes that they need to fix. Somerset had 2 touchdowns called back on penalties--they scored on one of the drives anyway but they have to clean that up. West got one touchdown on a punt return, another after another Somerset penalty gave them a first down and the last one on the Briar Jumpers reserves. The penalties and special teams miscues can be big in a close game--but they can be fixed as well. All in all a solid opener for the Briar Jumpers. Now on to the Correll Bowl and Pulaski County. Congrats to Alex Lange on being named MVP. Very nice bowl game put on by East Jessamine.

I went back and watched the game on Wazoo Sports today. Somerset has to improve their special teams play and cut out the penalties but both quarterbacks looked very good and the offensive and defensive line play was much improved this week.

I saw a lot of things Somerset needs to improve on but overall it was a good first game. Alex Lange had a great game. The defense looked really good too. Special teams needs work and there were too many dropped passes.

I watched this one too, on WAZOOSPORTS.COM.

For a young team Somerset did not look bad.

The mistakes I think is something they will clean up as the season goes along.

Jumpers D held West Jess to 133 yards according to the paper, very good start to the season. Much bigger challenge next week, Pulaski's QB had more yards rushing (147 yds) againts Hopkinsville, than the Jumpers gave up this week.

Somerset by far had the better line play and that was I.M.O.what made this one such an easy win,for them.
