Nick Petrino question

Featured Replies

Friday night he wasn't the best player on the field in my opinion but he was the player who played the best and made plays. Outside of U of L I don't think there will be too many takers at the D1 level. He may be fully capable of playing there when the time comes but his size will be the limiting factor. There are so many good football players with good stats and big hearts, that aren't given a second glance by the D1 schools because they are an inch too short or 2 tenths too slow. UK might give some lip service because they've heard of Trinity but the height and the 40 time would scratch him off of lists of D1 schools outside of Kentucky.

He is short, but he is also a player...He scored that second TD on a busted play...He made something out of nothing....A lot of QBs would have been sacked on that play. Doug Flutie was little and a player too.....remember his last college pass?

Is Petrino a Flutie or a Brohm?...NO WAY ! but he is only 16 as Rockmom has pointed out. He can still grow....heck I grew about 5 inches when I was 17. Also remember that his Dad is a known offensive master and hard worker....If any of that has rubbed off...Nick could surprise! ALSO....His current QB coach might just know a little about coaching that position.

Thanks...just callin it I like I see it.......Hey wasn't this state complaining about a QB being too big just a few years ago?

Why does everyone get hung up on whether a kid is a D1 talent or not? Is there anything wrong with playing at a smaller college? This kid can play and will get a chance at the next level. His size may keep him off the D1 level, but his understanding of the game is beyond most 16 year olds and you can see it when he plays. He was the best player on the field Friday night and deserves all the credit we can give him for his performance!
