July 6, 201115 yr Author I took Tuesday and Wednesday off from work so I could read. I'm starting to get ready antzy waiting for it. I couldn't resist. I skimmed through a few of the spoilers. Of course, there's no way of knowing if they were the true ones or the fakes. I don't really care. It's not going to alter my enjoyment of the books. I found that out when I enjoyed my re-read as much as my initial reading. I figure even if I do get a couple of spoilers, the book is over 1000 pages. The spoilers a few paragraphs. Still a lot that gets left out. It is ironic that Martin took eons to get this book out and then it gets mistakenly leaked early.
July 7, 201115 yr Since were dominating this thread, I found this. Not much spoilers but you might enjoy 5W http://shelf-life.ew.com/2011/07/06/dance-with-dragons/
July 7, 201115 yr What’s the most awesome thing about Dance? Your favorite characters are back, and in abundance. Tyrion, Dany, and Jon Snow get a lot of chapters, plus one character returns unexpectedly and that story just might be the strongest (and most heartbreaking) in the bunch. This makes me think either Osha or maybe even Jorah. Not sure who else it would be.
March 5, 201313 yr Decided to dig this thread up. First off, I recently finished ADWD and I'm already having pretty bad withdraws. So the other night I went ahead and purchased the three anthologies that contain the Tales of Dunk and Egg hoping to alleviate my symptoms. Have any of you other ASoIaF nerds read these? The story line seems interesting and I think it will give some cool insights about a few things.

Also, in what appears to be true GRRM fashion, the fourth short story's publication date was grossly miscalculated(The Shewolves of Winterfell).

I went back and read them again because I didn't think anything else would stack up. Took me a long time but if your into fantasy send me a PM. I'll let you in on some good books. I did read the Dunk and Egg tails. They give some good back story on the world. Also read Fevre Dream by GRRM. Really great standalone novel. Only about 300 pages long.

Also read Fevre Dream by GRRM. Really great standalone novel. Only about 300 pages long. I just finished the third Dunk and Egg short story last night. I'm really liking their story line. It's A little refreshing having main characters that you can trust.:lol2:
March 20, 201313 yr I'm pretty excited about the next Dunk and Egg book The She Wolves of Winterfell. The title alone is intriguing enough. No clue as to when it will come out though, because the next story that Martin is releasing is titled The Princess and the Queen. It's supposedly going to be about the origional Dance of the dragons AKA Targaryen civil war. It's not The Winds of Winter, but hey, atleast it gives us more back story.

The stories are cool, I think you'll like the main characters a lot. It's neat seeing and hearing of some of the older characters in A Song of Ice and Fire as youngsters.
