The Dirty Birds string together a bunch of hits in the bottom of the 1st to put up 11 en route to a needed win.

 

Grant Duesing pitched all 5 innings and everyone contributed offensively.

 

MVP of the game was Coach Baioni and all those who helped get the field in shape to play a much needed game with this weather.

For starters, they haven't played many games for obvious reasons. See a quick recap below:

 

FRI - Lost by 10 or 11 in 6 innings to Boone Co. at Florence Freedom

SAT - Lost by 2 or 3 to Seneca in LIT

SAT - Lost by 10 in 5 or 6 innings to very good PRP team in LIT

SUN - Lost 4-2 to Brossart at Highland Park

 

Schedule for the remainder of the week appears to be:

 

Today - Ryle at Home

Tomorrow - CovCath at Home

Saturday - Boone Co. at Home at 11:00 AM (followed by JV DH w/ Boone)

 

Of course, all of this is subject to change.

Sounds like the boys are starting to come around. I have yet to see a game. Other than the rain, it has been nearly impossible to get out lately with working later hours and my daughters softball team. Wish there was more time in the day....Go Birds!

I thought they played a very solid game against Brossart. Had opportunities to win game and that is all you are looking for against really good teams.

I heard this today at the Highlands/CovCath game and had to ask if I heard it right. Baseball Dirty Birds? I love it........ and I am sure the Highlands State Football Champion Defense wont mind sharing their call name with their brothers of baseball. Good Luck Dirty Birds in the Districts. Beat those Dirty uh, um, Breds. LOL.
