Shake It said they had their best sales day ever - DOUBLING the amount of their previous best sales day. I picked up all seven of the records I went for. I also got to witness a guy start crying when they told him they were sold out of the Frightened Rabbit/Twilight Sad cassette split. He was one sad hipster. (By the way, why anyone would ever want to re-invest in cassette recordings is absolutely beyond me.)
April 18, 201115 yr How was the show? It was pretty solid. My first time seeing Hayes, and he certainly didn't disappoint. It was the first decent opening act that I've seen in recent memory too. I think they were called Shovels & Ropes. It was a solid Isbell performance for sure too. It's the earliest I've seen him on a tour so they were definitely more energetic than I've seen them in the past, but on the flip side, there weren't any of the noticeable "we've all been driving around in a van together for 10 months and I know these guys so well that can tell you the last thing every one of them ate" idiosyncrasies that you get from a band that has been out on tour for a long time. Great show though.

While I'm on the topic of that concert and Daytrotter. Hayes Carll did a Daytrotter Session last week.
