Well the hope was obviously that the guys buying the guns would lead them to bigger fish. I'd be interested to know if they were able to make positive gains from the program.

 

And yes, the stingers worked, but not many were returned and most were smuggled out of the country.

I just want to know if the short-term losses helped the long-term. Aside from the regrettable deaths, did it provide valuable intelligence going forward? Isn't this a common practice of the government, to feed terrorists supplies in order to build a case and ultimately bring them down?

The plan was to allow guns to the Mexican drug gangs to make gun stores and gun show operators look bad along with lax gun laws in the U.S. Wonder what excuse they will come up with??
