Dixie Heights 72 Australia Travel Team 58

Was this the good Aussie team mentioned in an earlier thread?

Dixie remains impressive. Can Scott or Simon give them a battle?

We won't get a good grasp on Dixie until Jan 31 and the subsequent 5 games. Their schedule up until then is underwhelming.

They beat Scott by 10 in the championship of the KKC.

If I'm not mistaken they have had some good wins up to date. They beat a then #1 team in the region, Conner at their own court, beat NCC handily who beat Holmes, beat Campbell County who beat Boone County, and beat a good Colerain team. And also they did win the KKC with a couple good wins in that tourney. In my opinion they are the team that has the arrow on their back in NKY and it wont come off until someone beats them.

So the Scott County tournament with some of the top ranked teams is underwhelming?

Dixie improves to 12-0.....9 of those by double digits.

The final month of play is indeed the stronger part of Dixie's schedule...should toughen them up for tourney time.

DIXIE HEIGHTS 73, AUSTRALIAN TRAVEL TEAM 58 – Freshman Brandon Hatton hit 5 of 6 free throws in the fourth quarter to ice the game for the Colonels.

Hatton finished with a team-high 17 points, and junior center Zeke Pike added 15 as Dixie Heights extended its winning streak to 12 games.

Dixie puts 5 in double figures in this one.

We'll disagree. They beat Conner. So have a lot of teams. They beat NCC when most of their players were back less than a week from football. Campbell County? Which one?

Don't get me wrong. I've always said they've got the best starting 5. I just haven't seen them have to play good teams enough to get a clear picture.

Dixie plays Western which I know nothing about, they are 7 and 3....any details on this team?

Western played in the Gaslight Holiday Classic in Jeffersontown where they went 2-1 and finished 5th. A couple of coaches from our staff watched them and although their roster says otherwise, they said they have 3 athletic 6'7" guys who are tough to handle.

BGP has them #13 in the state.

The team I mentioned, Newington, is in Texas their entire trip, I know that they are a good team.
