Senior DeVante Parker and freshman Quentin Snider combined for 56 points to lead the Ballard High School boys' basketball team to an 85-81 overtime victory Friday night over Duncanville, Texas, in an opening-round game of the Marshall County Hoopfest at Benton.

Parker hit five three-point baskets and scored 32 points and Snider hit four three-point shots and added 24. The Bruins (2-0) outscoredtheir Texas rivals 13-9 in overtime after the two teams ended regulation tied 72-72.

Cameron Lenzy's 17 points led Duncanville (7-3).

The Snyder kid could be the next Darell Griffith to come out of Louisville.

No...their star point guard was killed over the summer in a tragic car accident when his car was hit by a train.

 

This was a big win for Ballard though. Perry Jones (Baylor) came from Duncanville and they are traditionally one of the better teams in Texas. Ballard is for real with Snyder and Parker leading the way. Don't be surprised to see them in the top 5 come January or February.

Yea, hard to believe they play so many freshman/sophomores and still at a high level. I would probably say Snyder will be the top player in that class over the next few years.

Snyder is tough for sure. Also has good size.
