I just heard today that the #1 ranked team in OH, Taft HS in Cincinnati, scrimmaged at Trinity this weekend and when their coach got his second technical in the 3rd qtr he refused to leave so the scrimmage was halted (Taft was supposedly down by 17). The kids shook hands and Taft just quit. THEN they stayed and DID play the JV scrimmage! Does anyone know any more about this story?!

I know nothing about the scrimmage, but I know Ohio is divided into divisions for basketball. Saying Taft is the top ranked team in Ohio is misleading. They may be the top team in their division in Ohio, but I doubt they are Division I.

If the OHSAA goes only boys enrollment for a male sport, then Taft is D-3. If not, then they are D-1.

Taft was D-4 in football, so I guess they are D-3 in basketball.

I really couldn't care less if they were ranked #63 in D-7... What I am curious about is what in the heck happened for their coach to pull his team off the floor and not complete the scrimmage?

It must have been bad if they kicked him out of a scrimmage.

Taft plays Louisville Male too at the Bluegrass/Buckeye Classic.

I've witnessed the Taft coaches and their circus act in a Holiday tournament in New York a few years ago. I am not surprised.

Taft is rated the top team in Division II-IV LaSalle is the top team in Division 1.
