I know GCHS is a rivalry and a big gate and all but I have to say that I still wouldn't have give in and agreed to play there again. That's just me though.

That's a fairly tough path for next season. I commend you on playing tough competition. I'm sure all the whining about the schedule and those who would/wouldn't play made all the difference in the world. Thanks again BGP!!:lol:

 

Funny you mention that doc, I believe the BGP came into the discussion with one school's administration.

I'm not sure how strong they will be. Raceland tried to schedule some stronger Kentucky teams, but many have a travel restriction and could not play, including some Northern-Kentucky teams. But, I look forward to Kentucky putting up a W on an Ohio team.

 

I hope so, all Ohio teams are usually tough no matter the size of school.

That was just a ploy to get Coach Maynard to be the one that wouldn't play the game. Coach Maynard gave the concession to make the game happen, I believe he wants a shot at Greenup County for the next two seasons.

No, alternating after this season. 2011 at Greenup, 2012 at Raceland.

This looks like a good schedule. It looks challenging for the most part with a couple of easier games thrown in. I like having the home opener on a Saturday again with one of the easier teams on the schedule. I also like the bye week before the district games. There should be good crowds for the opener since it's on a Saturday, the Ashland game, the Greenup game, the Fairview game, and the Russell game. Adding Lawrence onto the pre-district schedule along with Ashland might be biting off more than they can chew, but those types of teams are balanced out by what should be easy wins over a couple of the others. The only criticisms I can think of are having 5 away games in a row, having only 4 home games again, and the fact that Ashland still won't come to Raceland. I'm glad they got the Greenup game back on the schedule, though.

Greenup said it could only reschedule if they had a home game. Coach Maynard was selfless and did what was better for the schools, players and fans. Coach Maynard is way better than me because I would have blown them off after the tricks they were pulling. I would have scheduled the Steelers before I would have bent over for them. That would have been our 5th home game. Although 5 straight away games is difficult, it should help us get playoff ready.
