Strength of schedule

Featured Replies

How would you rate your teams strenght of schedule this year?

I will go first. GRC's schedule is brutal this year. With 11 seniors returning and all the talent GRC has, the coaching staff has gone out and assembled one of the strongest schedules in the state.

We start off with scrimmages with J-town ( Should be ranked #1 or 2 in state) and Hunington Prep. Then start the season with Christian Co( should be a top 5 team) at Tates Creek in the Mr. Basketball Classic and next night travel to NKY to take on Scott.

Other top ranked in state teams on GRC's schedule include:Warren Central

Scott Co, Male, Lexington Catholic, Mason Co, Lafayette, Henry Clay.

GRC will take on Memphis White Hall Station at Warren Centeral in the Ky/Tenn Challenge. Memphis White Hall Station has one of the top ranked team in Tenn.

GRC will play in-state tourney's in the Fayette Co Invit. and the Toyota Classic at Scott Co.

Dec 27-31 GRC will play in the Beach Ball classic in Myrtle Beach SC, where 16 of the top teams from across the US has been invited to play.

Your thoughts.

Added Warren Central to list.

Highlands has a tough schedule in the 9th.

Goldie, that is an absolutely brutal schedule.

Memphis White Station produces high major D1 talent every year. Joe Jackson came out of their this past season.

BBC will match the Cards up with teams that are tops in their state.

In state schedule is tough as well with Christian Co (easily top 5), Tates Creek (Top 10 IMO), and other tough teams such as Lexcath, Scott Co, Lafayette, and Henry Clay.

Cards will definetly be prepared for post season play this season.

Not as tough as Clark Co, but Holmes will play the following schedule:

11/13 v Walton Verona (Scrimmage at Holmes)

11/20 v Scott Co (Scrimmage at Grant Co)

12/4 v Lloyd

12/6 v Bishop Brossart

12/9 @ St.Henry

12/11 v Aiken, OH @ NKU

12/14 @ Newport

12/18-12/21 Hoopin It Up Classic @ North/South Laurel

12/27-12/30 Lloyd Memorial Invitational

1/7 v Holy Cross

1/11 @ Covington Catholic

1/15 @ West Jessamine

1/21 v Campbell Co

1/22 @ Princeton, OH

1/25 @ Ryle

1/27 v Cooper

1/29 @ Scott

1/31 v Dixie Heights

2/3 v Highlands

2/5 v Beechwood

2/7 @ Boone Co

2/10 v Newport Central Catholic

2/12 @ Ballard

2/18 @ Simon Kenton

Hoopin It Up Classic consists of the following teams:

Lee Co, Letcher Co Central, Meade Co, Pulaski Co, Knox Central, Moore, Madison Central, North Laurel, South Laurel

Lloyd Memorial Invitational consists of the following teams:

Spencer Co (Holmes first opponent), Lloyd, Boone Co, Campbell Co, Cooper, Bishop Brossart, Newport, Newcath, Conner, Grant Co, Fern Creek, Lafayette

Considering what the Dogs lost from last year, I think this schedule is a very good challenge for the new coach and his players.

December doesnt look that bad for the Dogs but once they get to Princeton and play out Jan/Feb it looks pretty challenging.

Their February schedule is going to be really tough with Highlands, Boone, Newcath, Ballard, and Conner in a two week span. (Add Dixie is you wanna go back to the last day of Jan)

Add Ballard to the Hoopin It Up Classic list.

Thanks...do you know of anyone else competing besides the teams I listed and Ballard?

Add Ballard to the Hoopin It Up Classic list.

Thanks for the info.

And it's not a rule that you have to wait 1,700 days to make your next post.:D:thumb:

Oh I forgot Warren Central at GRC on Jan 15th. I will go back and add it.

The Mr. Basketball Classic is at Tates Creek Dec 3rd and 4th. Some great matchups and good talent to go see. Here are the line ups:

Friday 3rd

6:00 Ryle vs Tates Creek

8:00 GRC vs Christian Co

Saturday 4th

6:00 Iroquois vs Elliott Co

8:00 Eastern vs ?

When I get the teams from the Toyota classic I will post them.

The Hoop-it-up tourney at North/South Laural is a great tourney. We played in it a few years ago.

I agree with what Holmes has lost and a new coach they have a good schedule this year.
