A team with a small payroll, and even smaller fan base, and the team with the highest payroll and fan base. How in the world did you come to like both of those teams? :lol:

How in the world did you come to like both of those teams? :lol:I was never drawn to any team as KY has no teams and I consider the state of Ohio to be an entirely different world. My Father isn't a MLB fan at all so that never existed for me. Marlins - Whatever cereal my brother and I preferred in 1992 were giving away mini batting helmets as the prize. It was my brother's turn to get the prize and he got a Rockies helmet. Being 8 years old he immediately declared the Rockies his favorite team. Being brothers I decided that I had to have a different team---since his team was "new and cool" mine had to be as well. I picked the Marlins as my team. He long ago stopped watching MLB and even further beyond that gave up the Rockies fandom. I on the other hand have alway loved baseball and have never wavered one iota from my Marlins fandom. There are TONS of pictures from '92 on with me in full Marlins regalia even in the beginning when orange was a color in a lot of their apparel. It's a weird way to become a fan of a team but living in rural KY and not being drawn to a team, it happens. It also didn't hurt than soon afterwards a TON of Braves fans begin to appear among my friends. Yankees - My Granddaddy used to be a much bigger MLB fan than he was now and was a Yankees fan so I've always casually rooted for them but never really had the huge attraction. Later in life I found out that my Great-Uncle who died when I was younger was a HUGE Yankees fan and listened to practically every game on the radio. Hearing those stories from my Granny and other relatives helped to further my support for them---two trips to Yankee Stadium helped even more and finally when my Granny gave me all of my Uncle's old box scores he kept the last few years in the nursing home it was cemented. While I had problems with being a fan of two teams I figured what the heck as long as one was AL and one was NL I could root for both. But there is a CLEAR #1 for me.
