Pikeville won 11 games in 2004 and advanced to the state semifinals in Class 1A. They haven't won 10 games in a season since and have seen several coaches come and go.

 

After being a top five regular in the mid-80s to the mid-90s, they have struggled to just make the top 10.

 

Will Pikeville be a top five team again?

I saw Pikeville play this yr once and will agree they have fallen way off from where they once were. However,I feel Macnamee is gonna get that thing turned around but it will take a few yrs.

I'm not sure the quality of coaching has been the main problem.

There are a lot of pieces to that puzzle and obviously some of those pieces are missing for the Panthers' program.

Another example of a town and school that had it good and forgot how they got there, now they think its some secret magical thing that can happen over night. Give someone time, let them coach.
