Centerville is a wealthy community south of Dayton, Ohio. They have excellent athletic teams in most sports and top-notch athletic facilities.

 

Their football teams have been dynamite since back in the middle 70's. Their trademark is a very aggressive defense and the old Veer/option offensively.

 

NFL players Mike Nugent (Kicker) of the Cincinnati Bengals, A.J. Hawk (LB) of the Green Bay Packers, and Nick Mangold (Center) of the New York Jets all are from Centerville. Mangold played his high school football at Kettering Alter which has long been known as an Ohio basketball power. Jim and John Paxson of NBA fame played high school basketball for Alter before becoming all-Americans at Dayton and Notre Dame, respectively.

 

Centerville's most famous alum is none other than Kirk Herbstreit who played quarterback for the Elks and Ohio State before becoming famous on the ESPN Gameday set.

Any team that beats Alter is okay in my book .....

Both teams had been avoiding this game for a LONG time.

Glad to see that they finally got things moving again.

My Mom is an Alter graduate ... so to see the arrogance that oozes out of that place make me sick.
