These are the following KY statewide football polls I can think of:

1) BGP

2) Litkenhous

3) Cantrall

4) Massey

5) AP

 

Numbers 2, 3 and 4 are based at least in part of a mathematical formula, while numbers 1 and 5 are voted on by people. I think most here would agree that BGP is, week in and week out, the most accurate. Beyond BGP, I don't think one poll is better or worse than the others. Just my opinion...

 

I don't think any one poll is really head and shoulders above the rest. The BGP poll is mostly guess work just like the rest of them.

Ballard was one two-point conversion away from beating second-ranked St. X, whereas Ryle was able to hang with Highlands for 24 minutes of football. Why should the voters put Ryle ahead of Ballard at this time? The BGP pollsters must also be homers, since they have Ballard ranked third as well.

Boone County has beaten two teams that were ranked in the top 10 so I don't know that I agree with that assessment

 

Top ten ranked teams in pre-season and very early season polls, I think the remainder of the season will show that Scott co nor Henry Clay should have been ranked that high. I may be wrong but thats why they play the games.

There are so many examples of this every week. In the 5A poll this week, Highlands received all but one first place vote. But you can do the math and determine that the one that didn't vote them first, not only didn't vote them first, but voted them third.

This explains why some of the small schools do not get votes. For example, Class 2A Green County was BGPs #6 team at preseason. After a lopsided loss to 4A Power Bell County (61-12). They since have dropped out of the Top 10 in both the BGP and AP polls. They have since played up to class 3A versus Taylor County (56-6) and Butler County (52-20). These lopsided wins still have not helped them breach the Top 10. This week they play another 4A school in Larue County. Not once have they played a 2A school yet. Similiar situations with other teams that are in the Top 10. This leads me to this question, Does the fact that many of these AP voters do not personally see them play lead to the reason that it is so tough to get votes? Please give your opinion and keep it clean.

I thought the Kentucky Enquirer (NKY) got a vote in this, no? I thought Ryan Ernst would post his weekly ballots online last year.
