Track the Braves (2nd Half Week 9)

Featured Replies

The Braves manage to hold onto the lead despite a loss to Florida on Sunday thanks to a 6-2 Brewers win over Philadelphia.

Coming up on Monday, the Braves travel to Pittsburgh and will have Hanson on the mound, coming off of one of his best outings of the year.

Philadelphia has a doubleheader tomorrow against Florida, so there is the potential that if the Braves lost, they could actually end up a half game behind Philly, or could go as much as 2.5 up if Philly got swept.

Here's hoping that the Braves can take care of business against Pittsburgh.

The road woes continue, as the Braves have dropped 4 of 5 now, and 3 of 4 of those have been road games. The Braves lose an opportunity to gain ground on the Phillies, as they also lost today in their first game of a doubleheader. But on the bright side, the Phillies cannot take first place today. The Braves will be up .5 or 1.5 by tomorrow night.

This season is going to come down to that 9 game road trip and possibly paired with the three game homestand. The Braves are just utter crap on the road.

It's all in their heads. I've never seen such a great team at home suck so bad on the road. They have to win the next two games against Pittsburgh. They need to completely dominate their homestand though.

Philadelphia wins 7-4 tonight, and moves within 1/2 game of Atlanta. The Braves have Hudson going tomorrow, so figure to have a good shot at staying ahead of the Phils. Hopefully Blanton returns to his lackluster July form.

Hoping Hudson rebounds from his last outing. He should provide a strong start tomorrow. As long as the Braves can stay in 1st until their homestand I'll take it!

Still hoping to see a sweep of the Cardinals to start out the homestand.

Braves have a 7 game home stand coming up (4 cardinals, 3 Nationals), followed by a 9 game road trip and ending the season with a 6 game home stand with the last series of the season being against the Phillies.

This is a Greek tragedy. Losing 5-0 to Pittsburgh with Hudson on the hill? Wow. The Braves just cannot get it done on the road.

Looks like the Braves will lose the division lead tonight, but will at least be leading the Wildcard.

I hope the Braves get hot at home.

Florida teased us with a comeback, but fell short. The Phils are officially alone in first place, albeit by half a game and equal in the loss column.

Braves still .5 back and they face a down Cardinals team at home. Hopefuly the Braves can get hot at home and at least take 3 of 4. They need to win tonight though.

Only time I'll ever root for the Braves is these next 4 days....

God willing, they won't let you down UK.
