StickerMann
Pulled this from Mustang's website--No details except BB apparently came back from a 22-6 halftime deficit?? Mustangs move to 3-0 with one game left before moving into their district schedule. Who-da-thunk-it??
aptr
The Mustangs were down 22-3 at the half and fought back to win 23-22. They scored the go ahead td with 50 seconds to go. It was a sloppy game for both teams but Brossart came through. Caverna is actually loaded with talent and will definitly win a bunch of games. Great job Mustangs keep growing with this win!!!! Mustang
In a nutshell, Mustangs spot the Colonels an 8-0 lead, after having our first pass from scrimmage intercepted and subsequently run in for a TD and 2-Point conversion. Caverna dominated on both sides of the ball for the first half, putting 22 points on the board while limiting the Mustangs to a Ryan Enzweiler Field-Goal. The second half saw a reversal of roles as the Mustangs were the dominant team cutting into the Caverna lead 22-10 on a Orth touchdown pass to Spencer Brown and Enzweiler PAT. A 6 yard TD run by Enzweiler with 2:19 to go in the third period and a PAT by Enzweiler made it 22-17 and the Colonels were hearing real loud footsteps as they were unable to generate any offense, and continuously shot themselves in the foot via penalties. In the decisive fourth quarter the Mustangs had opportunities to score but failed to do so, but with only 46 seconds left to play in the football game and Brossart in a 4th and goal situation, Andrew Guidugli scored on a 4 yard touchdown run to give the Mustangs a 23-22 lead that would stand up and give our Mustangs their 3rd victory in as many outings in the new campaign. In the second half the Mustangs generated 185 yards of offense, as opposed to 16 total yards in the first half. The Mustangs have a bye week coming up and then will play four straight at Newport Stadium beginning with Eminence on Friday night, September 17th
