Unofficial BGP Fantasy Football League (Dolamites League) Discussion

Since we have the league filled through the other thread, figured I would make a new thread in order to keep things from getting too clustered.

The Draft is this Sunday (tomorrow) 8-29, at 9:00 pm "Eastern time" (just for you Sweet 16 :D ).

I actually think it is a good time to have the draft being this is the third week of NFL Pre Season, thus giving us a little look at some players, enough time to think about where we want to go with our teams, and enough time to try and make trades, pick up free agents, etc. before the season starts.

If your like me you already are in another league or two so you already have a general idea as far as draft/team strategy goes.

Last but not least, thanks to all who are participating, I think its going to be a fun league.

One other thing before we do the draft.

As it sits now, I have the teams set up with a 17 player roster.

You will have

1 QB starter

2 RB starters

1 flex (rb/wr) starter

3 WR starters

1 TE starter

1 DST starter

1 K starter

In all my previous leagues I have normally played with just 2 RB starters, 2 WR starters and 1 Flex starter. But when creating the league it seemed like a good idea to have 3 WR starters being the depth of receivers in the league, and with this just being a 10 team league. I have been in 12-14 team leagues and quality players are hard to find late in the draft.

My question is do you guys like this setup or would you prefer to have just the 2 RB/2WR/1 Flex? It is something I have been flip flopping on and needed to come to a decision before draft time.

For all of the rules and league setup you can find it on the league page.

Hahahahahaha :D

I saw the point system was a little odd. I think normal ESPN standard scoring works the best, honestly.

What didn't you like, I'd opt to change if others felt the same way. Only thing I changed from standard scoring was that QB gets a point for every 20 yards, not 25. I also added like two points if a RB has a two hundred yard game, and two points if the QB has a 400 yard game. The only other changes were for the defense, rewarding like 10 points if your defense holds the other team under ten points, or ten points for holding a team under 200 total yards and then the scale steps down accordingly. Those were the only changes.

Not a big fan of 3 WRs AND a flex but it's cool. Something a little different.

I was seriously thinking about changing it. I think its too much considering you got to have bench guys too. I think I'm gonna go standard with 2 RB's, 2 WR's and a Flex. That way there will still be some decent WR's to pick up in free agency if need be.

That was really my only concern, the WR market would be very very slim.

I'm going to change it for sure. I had been thinking about it ever since I set it up that way and just needed someone else to give me the notion to do it. Sounded like a good idea at the time being you had more options to play guys but it would drain the FA market in terms of receivers.
