We are 3-0! We scored 4 Tds and the kid hit two straight extra points, they got thru the uprights but not real solid. On the 3rd one he was wide left. Plenty of distance. I spoke to him from behind the bench and just told him to go into the ball a little faster.

His forth kick was hard and true right down the middle. This one you could hear the thump. Its a 20 yard kick for the 2 points and this one had 10/15 yards to spare. His best kick so far. 5-7 so far, and not bad for a kid who has never played football before.

This is great!

Thanks everyone, we have a family reunion in Alabama later this month, we really want to go but hate missing a game. Starts on a Friday and ends Sunday nite, one thing we can do is go to his game at Noon on Saturday and go home and clean up and then take off, its a four hour drive. Could go by myself/leave the kid with relatives/miss the reunion/let kid miss the game...

No game due to the holiday so we had a practice game against a team from Mt. Washington. They are undefeated same as we and it was a very hard hitting game. They had a kid who went both ways but as a linebacker this kid loved to hit, and I'm talking about some huge licks.

I went over and asked someone his name...I've seen some football in my life and let me tell you..this kid could could hit!.. It was like he was mad at the world and he was gonna take your head home with him. 8th grader and not real big 5'8" 150 lbs.

I'll have to write down his name and store it somewhere. We didn't kick and extra points so my kid played two plays on defense, but they realize the kicker wants no part of the hitting stuff. We did some practice Pks after the game.

Won 14-6, he hit his only try. 6-7 so far.

Hit his only try two weeks ago, 4-6 this past saturday. First one was wide right, then he hit 4, last one a kid came in and hit him late...no flag.

10-13, now his ankle is sore and leg has bothered him all week. Big game tomorrow we are 5-0 J-Town 4-1

Bounce back with a win, we scored three TDs and son hit all three tries. 14-17 Wind was blowing on his first one and almost stopped the ball. Hit the cross bar but bounced over.

We lost to the best team in the league. They are undefeated and haven't allowed a point all year! We were down 13-0, third quarter we score and my kid hits the point, 13-8, but we drop a pass in the endzone and they score, 21-8 kid has hit 8 in a row, 16-19.

We are off for two weeks then the playoffs, the finals will be held at Trinity's field.

Sounds good, Larry! I enjoy the updates on your youngster.

Thank You, its been a very surprising year. He is very grounded, we have all the kicks (except one) on video and he hasn't even asked to see them. He is like his Mom, if it was me...Youtube! People tease me about how I recall his stats.

Team was missing some players, so they put my kid in the scrimmage, not sure how I feel about that, but he is fine. Glad I wasn't there. He just isn't use to the hitting, and they needed a body...

Season is over, lost 14-6 in the playoffs. had a lot of fun and we learned a lot. Sad, but when you have 12 penalties to two, you gonna lose. never saw so many pass inerference calls. We also fumbled on the opening series at the goal line on first down, really hurt us. Son missed his kick, they had to move back five yards due to movement and his try was about a yard short.

16-20 for the season and the freshman team at Male this year doesn't have a kicker, they go for two every time. He might get to kick for the Freshman/JVs if that is allowed.

Thanks for allowing me to share this with you.
