George Rogers Clark 4, Bishop Brossart 2

Featured Replies

It was a battle between the top ranked team in Northern Kentucky and the top ranked teamin the tenth region this year. Clark County was 29-9 and Bishop Brossart 28-8. Something had to give and the winner would be an early favorite to win it all in the 10th Region Tourney at Harrison County.

In the second inning senior thirdbaseman Kayle Jones drilled a low pitch over the centerfield fence to give Clark a 2-0 lead, but Brossart battled back in the third when Paige Baynum drilled a base hit and then moved to second on a Krista Kennedy infield hit. A rocket by Lindsay Griffith off the glove of Jones at third made it 2-1 as Baynum scored.

Clark bounced back with two unearned runs in the fourth to take a 4-1 lead but back came Brossart. Maria Gries had an infield hit in the fifth and eventually scored on a Kennedy single. That made it 4-2 and what would be the final score.:taz:

Not sure Brossart is the top team in NKY anymore. They lose to Connor at the end of the season, do not win their fairly weak district, then lose in the first round of the region. Regular season means nothing it is about what you do in the playoffs and Brossart did not fair well.

Of course Conner lost to Ryle hmmmm and Clark is better than all of the ninth teams. Conner didnt win their District either in a weak overall region. My Royals lost to Harrison in the crackerbox at Cynthiana. Even Maybelle could go long there. Mason tried two touchdown passes at the end lost 22-6

George Rogers Clark is a very good softball team. Walton spilt two games with them this year and I was impressed with their team. Congrats to Brossart on a fine season!

Maybelle and I saw Walton and they had a great season alo I see you guys won today congrats hope you win the 8th. My Lady Royals got to see a Memorial day Fireworks Display today off the Harrison bats.

Brossart is losing a very good group of seniors. Jenna Bezold abd Emily Schubert are two of the classiest athletes I have ever had the privilege of knowing. As their athletic careers end we all can only hope that one day we will see kids as smart as the Brossart seniors.

Yeah Brossart didnt play there best ball when needed. I saw the game yesterday against Clark County and I thought Brossart out played them. Clark's third baseman hit a 2 run homer (which I think there center fielder would have caught if the fence wasnt 195 ') and they had 2 big errors in one inning and that was the difference . Its a shame because they could play with anybody in the state and so can Conner , Ryle and Walton. Its great to be able to have this discussion about these local programs. So I would like to say congrats to all and good luck if your still playing

Way to go Lady Cards and coaches.:thumb::thumb:

Clark’s first two runs of the contest came when Kayla Jones connected on a two-run homer to give the Lady Cards the early cushion. Morgan Woosley connected on a single prior to the dinger by Jones.

Haggard went the distance and tossed a four-hitter, complete with 10 strikeouts. Clark outfielder Caitlin Collins made a diving catch in the sixth inning that McCloud termed as a turning point in the game.

Clark (30-9) takes on Nicholas County (14-11) in the semfinals at 6 p.m. tonight in Cynthiana. The Bluejackets defeated Bracken County 9-8 in eight innings in the opening round.

How could Nicholas beat Bracken. Maybelle is crushed she likes that boy who coaches the Polar Bears of Brooktown. The girl who pitches should be playing short Maybelle thinks. I would say Clark in 3 or 5 innings like 12-0. Any yes dawg ole buddy you are right.

No doubt Clark will lay it on Nicholas tonight. I was amazed when I seen Nicholas beat Bracken. Cant imagine the polar bear fans are happy. They had a bunch of mental mistakes and errors. To late in the season for that

The bus driver and the fans will be in arms. maybe they can hire the jv coach and his daughter. Think she played a few days at NKU didn't she?
