Congrats to the Colonels and their 34th District Championship. Exciting game to watch until Dixie put across 5 runs in the bottom of the fifth. Give credit to the Cru as they played very tough. Way too many walks by the Dixie pitchers along with miscues in the field certainly did not help Dixie's cause, but the bats took care of business.

 

The stands were overflowing at St Henry....huge crowd, great enviroment.

Dixie - Stansberry started relieved by Sexton in the 4th relievd by Barnhorst in the 7th.

I know Noebel was the first reliever used for St. Henry followed by Bryant. I am not sure of who started for the Crusaders.

 

First big hit for Dixie came off the bat of Brett Stansberry in the bottom of the first inning. A 3 run blast (roughly 350 ft) over the left field wall.

 

Sexton had a few hits including a triple.

 

Pitching for Dixie was okay but they didn't stay in the zone enough. They got wild and it allowed St. Henry to stay in the game for awhile.

 

It was Dixie's 4th District title in a row. Congrats to the seniors who have won a title every year of their high school careers. An impressive feat. Great game by both teams and good luck in the 9th.

Not that impressive when you have Ludlow, Villa, Lloyd, St. Henry in your district. If you'd have CCH, BW, HC or Conner, Ryle, Boone and won it four times with those types of teams then it would be an impressive feat. JMHO

It's the KHSAA would made the districts not Dixie. We didn't sign up for anything. We just play the games we are told we have to.

I agree with nkuclub. This is even coming from a St. Henry player and Grad. First of all, like he said they don't pick who they played in the districts, they just play who they have to play and they win. We all know high school baseball and on any given night one team can beat another. Winning the tournament 4 years in a row is impressive.
