I've been looking at a lot of schedules on KHSAA and it seems as though there are going to be a lot of games cancelled as we near the home stretch. Many teams have over-scheduled, no doubt due to the number of games cancelled last year. However, because the weather has been tremendous for most of the season, there have been few cancellations. How many of your teams have more than 32 games on their schedule as of now?

Counting on rainouts to cancel a bunch of them.

Great! I knew it was more than 32 when they took the 3 for 1 tourney games away but thought it was only 34. Thanks for the correction and the information Crash! :thumb:

Corbin has played 24 and still has 15 left on the schedule, so I guess that rainouts may take care of the 3 they are over. On the other end of the spectrum in the 13th region, you have Lynn Camp, who has played 12 games, Barbourville 12 games and Pineville has only played 9 according to the KHSAA. I guess the 51st district may not take baseball as seriously as the 50th district as the four teams from that district have played a combined 51 games while the 5oth district teams have played 87.

I think mother nature is going to take care of a few cancellations this weekend.

They always over schedule due to rain, and if it doesn't rain, they cancel the ones they don't want to play. Always rains, so they usually don't have to worry to much. Been pretty nice so far this year.

Sometimes cancelling games can be tough. For instance, suppose you've already hosted a team at home and won in a close game and are supposed to recipricate by travelling to play at their place. It would be tough to call and cancel that game because they would be the host and they might not be in a same situation. In fact, they may even need games. While I know the cancellation would have to happen to stay under the max number of games, it wouldn't settle well with the host team.

Sorry to correct you, but all levels have the same limit. 36 games, all must be complete before Saturday preceding district. After that point, only varsity can keep playing.
