9th Region Champ Newport

I really hope Newport does well. They are a fun TEAM to watch. They pass the ball very well and seem to come up with big shots when needed. They have grit. They have athleticism. But one thing no one is talking about with this Newport team is something we didn't NEED to talk about with Holmes the past few years. THE EXPERIENCE OF RUPP ARENA!!!

In the past few years, Holmes, I would say embraced Rupp Arena and the big crowds. They never played too nervous. They never really got out of there game plans. They stuck with what got them there and did very well because of it. I really hope Newport can do the same. Be patient. Run your offensive sets. Play tough defense. Don't get too worked up with things are going wrong. Don't get over confident if things are going right. Show class and show the people of Lexington you are there because truthfully, you really are as good as you want to be.

GOOD LUCK TO THE WILDCATS!!!

Just play like they did at BOK and it can happen. Will take some luck but I just hope they have fun and play their hearts out. Anyone on the floor can score so that is a plus. Go Cats! I really enjoyed watching you play at BOK and look forward to the games at the home of the real #1 bb team in the nation!
