DragonFire Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Guys, there's not a lot I can say that will do justice to this game. If you are so inclined, I'd strongly recommend watching it online: http://www.thehighschoolzone.com/regionaltournament/boys/4th_Region_Boys_Basketball_Tournament/Boys_Basketball_Games/Entries/2010/3/8_Boys_Championship_Game.html Outstanding game that neither team deserved to lose. It was a game of cat and mouse once Fant and Behanan went out, but WC's support gets it done, and the Dragons have returned to their home away from home!
PurplePride92 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 Good luck next week. I'll be there rooting for you guys. It's always good to see someone from BG representing the 4th Region.
DragonFire Posted March 10, 2010 Author Posted March 10, 2010 Good luck next week. I'll be there rooting for you guys. It's always good to see someone from BG representing the 4th Region. I appreciate it. It would have been extremely bittersweet for Central to lose, but I think I may have been able to find it within me to support the Purples had they gone. They've got some real workers on that team, and you could tell just how hard it hit them to lose. DJ Ray was an absolute wreck coming out to get his all tourney team award. Players like Joey Gorman and Mike Geegan are salt of the earth types that just go out there and play. They play the style of basketball that Central used to play more of, especially their press. They really left it out on the floor tonight, but couldn't close out Central.
gchs_uk9 Posted March 10, 2010 Posted March 10, 2010 I saw Warren Central on Monday night against Russellville and was very impressed with the Dragons. It seemed as if every player on their roster contributed, and of course Fant was dominant. I was also very impressed with the play of guards Jordan Shanklin and Jacob King. This Warren Central team seems like one of those schools who could make an "unexpected" run, just because there hasn't been much said about them this year. Their opener is winnable, although the next two games would be brutal. We shall see.
