February 24, 201016 yr I went to a Bengals game this year. First NFL game I had ever been to and it was terrible. Much rather watch baseball any day of the week over that. But everybody is different. I remember a few years ago when ESPN had the "condensed" baseball games. They included every strike, fourth ball and anything else that was relevant to the game. They lasted around 22 minutes on average. I haven't been able to watch a baseball game since, it's a lot like watching paint dry for most games. The condensed games ruined watching MLB for me.

February 25, 201016 yr Is Olive Hill West Carter? Just wondering because we played them last year as a traveling team and they were flat out loaded, had about 6 kids that could pitch. Yes it is. Which age group was it? There was a pretty big movement about 2 seasons ago with one of the age groups that significantly improved their baseball team. But, I don't see it as a long-term thing, once the kids leave the league could go right back to how it was. If it's the team I'm thinking of they had some guys who really knew what they were doing but I think most are parents who will move on after their kids are too old for the league. Nothing wrong with that, but it's hard to Olive Hill to have any consistency like that.:thumb:
February 25, 201016 yr Baseball is a dying sport. I can't remember the last time I watch a game on TV. I don't know that because you have personally stopped watching games qualifies it as a dying sport. Maybe NKY or the tri-state area is just lucky, but I certainly get no impression at all around here that youth baseball is struggling in numbers or quality of play.
February 25, 201016 yr I'm coaching little league basketball in Boyle County. I coach K-1st graders in our league we have 11 teams with at least 10 kids on each team. I was impressed with the number of kids playing. Here in Boyle County it seems like soccer is the growing sport I don't know if baseball is dying or not, I know my son wants to play baseball next year along with soccer which he's played 2 years already. I would think soccer and baseball are played at the same time which is probably not helping baseball.
