What does Fort Campbell need to do to improve in 2010? What do they need to keep doing to be successful? Remember, please be constructive.

They're going to have a lot of seniors leaving this year.....and some underclassmen will be gone due to dad or mom moving on (or out) in/of the military. I believe that'll be the first issue of concern because it's a variety of positions that need to be filled.

Finding replacements for Andrews and Allen in the skill positions will be key as well.

Is the QB ready to take over and run the Offense. Know you had some good players coming back but also lost some good ones. As Monroe Co. fan would like to see round 3 of Falcon vs Falcon. Whoever plays good luck to your team this year.

As far as I know, there's some competition for the QB position, the starting JV QB is the obvious choice because of experience, but there's gonna be a battle for that spot I think. We'll just have to wait and see.

Hope we do have a Round 3 of the Falcon V Falcon matchup.....lookin' forward to comin' out there!

The biggest thing Fort Campbell needs to do is develop many of the younger players to step up and fill slots open due to graduation.

I think Fort Campbell loses about 17 or 18 seniors, many of whom were starters on the past two or three championship teams. So far 7 seniors have signed to play in college and I know of one four year starter who is not playing in college. Just those 8 players, many of whom played both ways, represent about half of the starters from last year.

However, the cupboard is not completely bare. A few of the returning players who I expect to play a large part this season are Powell, Januchowski, Nikolao, and Hills. It should be interesting to see how the team develops this summer/fall.

I don’t think the Falcons will be as dominate in 2010 as they were the last two years, but they will certainly be in contention for a fourth straight championship, especially as the younger players gain experience throughout the season.

I think that the youngr guys have a lot more experience than many give them credit for. In many of hte games they played the second half of the game and got almost as much plkaying time as the starters did. I understand that it is not the same as going into the game when your team is up by 40 points or so, but they still got a lot of experience over the last couple of years that will help them out this coming year. They have some key positions to fill, but Coach Berner will get them filled and knows how to get the best out of these young men. I don't expect them to be as dominant as they were this year (but some peope thought this after they won the championship in 2007), but they will still be a force to dealt with.

I do know, a good thing for the Falcons this year is the addition of a new turf field.

Is it field turf?

Wow that's cool.

Yeah, it'll be neat.....one of the bad things is that it won't have a logo at the center of the field. It'll have "FORT CAMPBELL" and "FALCONS" in the either endzone, but no center logo. The Garrison Commander at the installation wouldn't approve it. Said something about other people use the field than the Falcons, but that's a half-truth.

Oh well.

In my 13 years working/living on Fort Campbell I have never seen anyone else on that field except for the Falcons, but mybe since they are putting turf down others will use it, who knows???

I know.....I thought the same thing.

There are other people that use it, it's used for concerts and such, but in the scope of what a football field is used for, nobody uses that field except for the Falcon football team. It's a shame.
