Can someone clarify the time out rule in high school? Here's what happened at a key point in the 4th quarter:

A pass to a teamate is made to the sideline while being pressed and the receiving player has to jump laterally to catch the pass and calls time out while in the air and lands out of bounds. Should he be granted the time out?

I've seen it happen about 15-20 times this season and they will allow the time out. I thought they changed that rule from last year. It has to be worse rule in basketball to allow a time out while going out of balance with the ball.:ylsuper:

Rule was changed at the collegiate level not at the high school level.

Lexington Catholic won the game at the line. They shot 21 free throws in the 4th quarter making 18 of them. They shot 37 free throws overall. Manual did not press until the last minute of the game, while LC used some sort of pressure the entire game. Nikolic fouled out with 5:30 left to go in the game. He only played 2 minutes in the first half after picking up two fouls, one of which was very questionable. Samsel was ejected with 3:30 left in the game for what the official deemed a flagrant technical foul said he used profanity toward an opposing player after he was fouled and walking to the other end to shoot the free throws.

I don't like to blame losses on the referee's, but in this case one of the officials seemed to be pretty blatant in his calls against Manual. The other two officials weren't that bad.

 

Manual had their chance to pull this game out, showing that they are a very competitive team in the State. They continue to improve from a team aspect which is good to see. I would think that the assist numbers in the last two games are much higher than the beginning of the year.

Is the Schuette kid from Lex Cath hurt or did he just not score? Anyone know if he played last night?
