First off congrats to the young Colonels. The Birds jumped out on top like usual 13 to 7 after one. Despite numerous turnoves they werr making shots. Then it happened, Colonels outscored the Birds 11 to 4 in the 2nd. Halftime score was 18 to 17 Colonels. The 3rd was the decisive qtr with the Colonels going on a huge run and jumping out to a 34 to 21 lead. The Birds were ice cold and lacked the intensity they had in the 1st qtr. Its obvious the depth is not their for the Birds like Cov Cath has. Too many unforced turnovers from players who have played enough ball.

I was most impressed with #22 for CovCath Shumate and his strength taking the ball to the hole. He should be a nice ballplayer especially if he grows and gets stronger.

Unfortunately I dont have the stats because I am not privy to taking the book home with me but I can tell you this.

 

Highlands

- numerous turnovers- atleast 6 that were unforced.

- not many rebounds

- if there was a stat for not making a pass to an open playerand then either turning it over or shooting a bad shot then I would have to put a 5 or 6 in there as well.

 

CovCath

Didnt shoot well from the field, atleast in the first half.

They got most of their 2nd half points off steals in the press or in the backcourt when they triple teamed the rebounder of Highlands.

 

Nobody for Cov CAth scored in Double figures. Murphy had 7, Shumate had 8 and a few others with 6.

 

Highlands didnt have any double figure scorers either. I think McCoy led with 6.
