Why does a Whitetail Buck Make a scrape?

A Whitetail Buck makes a scrape so that he can go back and check for a doe to urinate in it. When a doe does this, the Buck then knows she is receptive and can breed that doe. Thats why hunting scrapelines are so successful for most hunters, because the Buck is bound to check it in hopes of finding a doe that is ready to be bred.
