I truly don't mean any disprect by saying this about Dayton or HC but is this how far HC has dropped this year, that someone is saying that in beating Dayton by five, it was a good win?

Truly I enjoy HS sports in NKy, be it Soccer, Football, Basketball, Volleyball, Basketball or my personal favorite Baseball but if I and others didn't post our opinions on BGP's, there would be no reason for BGP's to exist!

 

So that is what I did and you did too, express our opinions! Nothing wrong with that at all!

 

I stray sometimes from the CovCath threads, as you do from the HHS threads sometimes!

 

BTW I am old enough to have attended that Championship game in the 64/65 season between Holy Cross and Breckridge County, when HC got beat 95/73. Former Kenton County Clerk and St James (Ludlow) grad Billy Jo Aylor was on that HC team and they went up against the great Butch Beard!

 

It was my first of now many Sweet Sixteen State Tournaments that I have attended, enjoyed and believe it or not, most of them, CovCath did not participate in! :thumb:

All well and good, I just find it interesting that you question a rival program after a win , but yet you do not question the program you are associated with after a "down" season last year, and a less than impressive start this season. I understand someone supporting "their" program to the nth degree and keeping it positive. But to throw negatives at actually two other programs, I don't get.

As I stated, I meant no disrespect to HC or to Dayton but as an Old School Basketball Fan, Dayton really hasn't been a huge Basketball program (football yes) while HC has!

 

When someone said "this was a big win" well okay but how many times would HHS love to draw Dayton instead of NCC in the 36thd District first round basketball tourney?

 

BTW if Mitch, Max and Mattie don't go down with non basketball injuries, and Jake with a basketball injury, the CovCath season wouldn't have been so bad! No, they probably wouldn't have beaten Holmes last year, but the numbers of losses wouldn't have been so bad either! While you might call it a down year, I call it bad luck to have that many kids go down with non basketball and basketball injuries in one season!

 

BTW I wrote this about the CovCath vs St. Henry game: Congrats to St. Henry, they out fought for rebounds and out-hustled CovCath all over the floor tonight and indeed earned their win.

 

Not very impressed with many of CovCath players tonight!
