Mercer County 73 McCreary Central 70

Featured Replies

Final.

Aaron Watts missed a 3 pointer to tie at the buzzer.

Mercer County controlled the game from the opening tip with McCreary taking the lead for a brief spell in the 4th quarter. Great game, I think Mercer was almost up 20 points at one point when McCreary came back in the 2nd half to take the lead. Mercer County hung tough and pulled out the victory.

Aaron Watts had a good game for McCreary. I don't have his stats but he played pretty good for the most part. I look forward to seeing this team come tournament time, you could definitely tell it was the 1st game of the season.

Jamel Taylor had a good game, Aaron Lee had a good game and Clay Cinnamon and Austin Seagraves(?) all played good for Mercer. They will make noise in the 12th region. This game was no fluke and I look forward to the Mercer County/West Jessamine games.

Mercer could be the sleeper in the 12th this season. They have some nice players.

I don't usually post on the basketball forums but I just wanted to send this out. I support the Raiders 100% and I know exactly how talented these guys are and they have the ability to go as far as they want. You have the entire school and community behind you guys so don't listen to the hype just focus on working hard as a team and that will help you come together and play domminant basketball. You guys have a tough schedule and you won't win them all but if you work hard together and play as a family your schedule will prepare you for the real season and that is what counts. So, work hard, work together, play hard, play together and I am sure you will make McCreary County PROUD! Go Raiders!

Robert Jones loses his opener. I think he maybe the 4th best team in the region.

Here we go again ....

I'm not surprised at this game.

Why? Mercer came to McCreary last year and took the Raiders into overtime before falling. They probably should have won last year. I'm not surprised at all.

I don't think this means Mercer is better than McCreary, or vice versa. Mercer lost last year by four in overtime, and one team went to the regional finals and one team bowed out in the first round of the districts, with a record right around .500.

1. West Jessamine

2. Wayne county

3. Mercer County

4. McCreary Central

5. Lincoln County

Thats the way I see it right now.

After one game?

Ok... :idunno:

Whats wrong with my rankings here at the first of season? I mean your team lost to Mercer, do you think that they should stay #1? Please explain that to me if I am ranking teams?

I'm not saying that you're wrong in your rankings. Do whatever you please.

Last season, McCreary beat West Jessamine in the regular season, but lost at home and at Wayne County, before thrashing them in the tournament.

I guess I was looking more big-picture, not an actual game by game ranking.

At this point, with the few games that have been played, I don't have much argument, except West Jessamine hasn't played with the the unknown at coach and graduating a few seniors, a lot has yet to be determined about them.

Does anyone have any stats from this game?

For McCreary, Watts 27, Roark 14, Privett 9, Dixon 5. I'm not sure about the rest of the Raiders or Mercer.

McCreary will be fine. Watts , Roark, and Williams coming out of Football not really in Basketball shape. This team will get better as year goes on and will be very hard to beat at Tourney time. Go Raiders.
