Beechwood 2010 Volleyball

Who is the likely candidate to fill Robin Hood's position?

Kyra played outside along with Robin and did a spectacular job! I think Beechwood's team is going to be awesome next year. Those girls really like each other and work well together. When Robin was out with an injury, they learned that they could win without her, which gave the team even more confidence.

Who will take Robin's place? Not sure, but there are a couple of good candidates. If they run a 6-2 with Kyra and Ellie Ogle, like they did when Robin was out, that would work. Ellie is a great setter and can hit right down the line. Both girls are all around athletes and can play both positions well.

Another likely candidate is Elizabeth Fry. She started JV and dressed Varsity, but got a lot of varsity playing time. She too, is a great athlete, and plays well all around. With Ellen White and Danielle Anderson returning as middles, there is a lot of experience up front.

I am very excited about the future of Beechwood Volleyball. Now that we have an elementary program in place and more girls playing club, I think Beechwood will get better and better.

Hope we can keep coach Jessi for awhile. She really did a fantastic job with those girls!

What about Boyle starting next year? I've heard her and Fry are very similar players.

They brought up the Boyle girl when the JV season was over, to play with the Varsity. That is certainly a good sign. She too, is very good and will undoubtedly see some playing time next year, possibly even a starting position. I hope that she is playing club over the winter. I know Elizabeth is, and that usually makes a difference over who starts. Rumor has it that there might also be a right side position opening next year.

Is Ogle looking into NDA or is she staying with Beechwood?

That is the ten thousand dollar question! Hope Beechwood can hold onto her!

I believe Boyle is playing for the Team Extreme and is playing in the age division one year above that of her own.

Fact is Beechwood may be tough next year and they will beat the teams that they are supposed to beat but as long as they are in the same region as Notre Dame and St. Henry and until they start winning over those two powerhouses it probably won't matter a whole lot in the end .

Well, I guess we best shut down the whole program and go home.

Take a team that should of beat NDA in the 1st set of their game then fell apart in the 2nd. Take away there only senior[their star but they won without her] add a player that got some varsity playing time[Fry] plus young stars in Spahn and Ogle plus seniors[White,Anderson etc] This team will be able to beat them.:ylsuper:
