Was impressed with this years version and how they played tonight.

 

The team is playing with a passion and with a heart that I have not seen in a CovCath team in a while.

 

This group of CovCath basketball players seem to understand what "With a spirit, that will not die" means and they will play you from one end of the court to the other and they will battle you from the opening tip-off to the last horn. Nobody, and that means nobody, will out hustle this team this season.

 

On a personal note, I what to publicly thank Coach Listerman, Mark Wehry and the CovCath Captains for being so nice to me tonight in giving me my CovCath basketball hat! You all have no idea how surprised I was, nor how much it meant to me! Thank you all.

Well I am a bit bias but to me Mattie Klein. Mattie was all over the place and had some passes/assists that just were thrown and hit their mark like he pitched in baseball in his sophomore year. Mattie is back and as he told me to prior to the game to 100% and with his heart and desire to play this season, he will be huge addition to this team on and off the floor!

 

Wellbrock also impressed the heck out of me. He is THE LEADER on the floor like he was the yell leader for the Crazies at the Football games and Soccer matches. If he continues to play with the heart and passion throughout the rest of the season like I have seen him in practice and this scrimmage, then he will be a force in the Ninth Region this season!

 

This season will be fun CovCath fans, this season will be fun!

I'm excited to watch a few games. All indications point towards the Colonels returning to a team oriented style of play.

CCH's number one strength this season will be depth which will allow a more aggressive style of play.

I also think the team has more speed as well. Hopefully they will be able to use that to their advantage as well. One thing that really impressed me last night was in the passes. There were a few posessions where ball movement was very impressive. Seemed like if anything, there were guys passing up shots they should have taken, trying to get an even better shot

You're not the first person I've heard say Mattie is going to be a big part of the team this year. I think he is going to be a major inspiration and leader to the rest of the team, as well as a big play maker.

Coach L handed out Hardcopies of the Rosters last night I heard

Yes.

Daniel Shumate IMO is the key to the freshman Colonels. His combo of strength and size could make him a new Wellbrock with a little better free throw shooting.
