Is it just me or can many people accurately forecast the teams that will end up in the final 4 each year?

 

If without even looking at rosters I took the following would I have a 90% chance of naming the top 4 teams?

 

Assumption

SHA

Mercy

NDA

SHDHS

NCC

 

That can't be good for the sport.

There are rumors afoot that Mercy will be moved to the same Louisville region as Sacred Heart and Assumption . Mercy's new building is down the street from Assumption .

There is a simple soution . If other schools want to compete then the coaches at them have to get their players to play club ball in the offseason to hone and improve their skills . Campbell Co. does this as does I suspect Dunbar , Manual and other sucessfull programs around the State .

The above seems to indicate to me that vball and its almost mandatory requirement of club ball is turning vball into an "elite" sport. That can't be good for the sport.

 

I'm sure every other school in the state knows about club ball so what other reasons are there for them to not participate like the Louisville/NKY schools? And why can't Ryle/Conner/Boone/Campbell put together a team that can compete against the big 3 in NKY?

I was told by a Louisville SHA parent that it is a done deal that Mercy will be in the same region as the other schools Saturday at NKU!

Campbell is up there with what you call the big three . My daughter was a club coach and has coached girls from all the schools that you mentioned . But you cant just start girls playing in high school or even middle school they have to start playing in elementary school where the basics must be tought .

So its a "Catholic school" sport then since only Catholic schools seem to have vball teams.

Basketball rules there I guess ?

Beechwood started an elementary program a couple of years ago and it is a big hit with the girls. I think it will definately pay off in a few years.

 

It would also be nice if volleyball was classified like football. Would give a lot more schools the opportunity to experience what it is like to succeed.
