Was not a pretty game for the Jags by any means. Got to learn to cut out on the stupid penalties, but that will come with experience. A season that ends 3-7, but IMO could have easily been 5-5 or so. Look forward to the off-season as I know these kids have a bitter taste in their mouth after last night. Keep working hard in the offseason and bring on June 2010!

Do you mean Randy Borchers and staff? Walsh is the freshman head coach. Congrats to both Coaches on good seasons though!

Must have been a good feeling for Coach Hyder, who is on the Cooper staff. People seemed to rip him for the job at Newport, but did the new staff really do any better at Newport this year? Newport was not very good this year either.

Coach Hyder is a good coach and things did not go well for him during his two seasons as the head coach at Newport. The new staff at Newport is exactly what Newport needs to rebuild the program. You cannot expect any coach to walk in the door and turn the program around in the first season. Newport has some talented players and will be a force to deal with in the next coming seasons.
