Probably the best game of the four will be OC at Trigg, last year OC came back to win 28-21. I expect Ft Campbell and Murray to win easily and Hancock should win over Heath. The anticipated matchup of an undefeated Murray against and undefeated Ft Campbell for the Regional Championship is likely, but a Hancock vs Murray matchup in the second round could be an interesting matchup.

The first two rounds seem pretty easy for Fort Campbell, I would like to see them play Trigg County rather than OC for personal reasons.

 

Yes, an undefeated Murray against an undefeated FC Falcon team would be a much anticipated matchup. Murray has only allowed 18 points more than FC on defense, so they've got a pretty good defense.....but is it good enough to stop the fast Falcon offense? Scribe states that Murray won't get within 40 points of FC.....as a Falcon fan, I really hope that's true.

Ft Campbell doesn't need to overlook Trigg Co...They're hitting on all cylinders right now and aren't the inexperienced team they were in the 1st few weeks. When I saw them against Graves in the Alliance Bowl, I knew they had some really good talent, but, they also made alot of mistakes and did things that young teams do... IMO, Trigg will beat Owens Cath convincingly and I think they'll give the Falcons more trouble than anyone else in the region... I also wouldn't hand Hancock a win over Heath. To me, these teams are pretty even and that game could go either way.

I’m sure that the Ft Campbell coaching staff will not overlook anybody. Midway through the season they restated their record as 0-0 and regardless of what happens this Friday they will start again at 0-0. Like Bill, I too would like to see Ft Campbell play Trigg in the second round because we did not play them this year during the season.

 

From a fan perspective I don’t think anybody in the Region is within 30-40 points of Fort Campbell, but anything can happen that is why they play the game on the field and not on BGP.

Look, no doubt Ft Campbell has played great this year and blew there competition away, but, they really haven't played all that great a competition. The 2 teams from Tn they played are having subpar years and outside of WCentral, the Ky competition has been weak and even WCentral is only slightly above average. I know they knocked off BGreen, but, the Purples would beat WC 19 out of 20 times and by 30+ at least 1/2 of those. WC just happened to take that 1 in 20 chance...

 

If the Ft Campbell team comes out with the "We're 30-40 pts better than anyone else", they could be in for a rude awaking...Trigg Co, Murray, Green Co, Monroe Co and a couple of others all have enough talent to beat the Falcons on a given night...No doubt, FtC would be favored against any of them, but, they aren't so much better than the field that they can just wipe people out without playing good ball, especially the teams on the other side of the bracket from the east...The Falcons would beat any team on the west 4 out of 5 times, but, like BGreen vs WCentral, that 1 shot is always looming and teams all play at a higher level come playoff time...

 

I realize the 30-40 pt comment is from a fan, not the players, but, don't think for a minute that the kids don't read there own press clippings and get a little over confident...I hope this doesn't happen, because, I for one, prefer to see the best teams win, especially ones from West Ky...

Not this year, but, did see them last year a couple of times... I hear they're better than last year and by all indications, they appear to be, but, that doesn't change my previous statement... Fact is, there overall schedule hasn't been that great and I hope they don't get the big head and think all they have to do is show up and everybodys gonna roll over for them. That ain't gonna happen and if anything, they'll get everyones best shot. I know they're a very good team, but, so is BGreen and they had a lapse and got beat. It's not beyond the realm of possibility that could happen to the Falcons, as well...Like I said, I hope not, cause I wanna see the best represent and the Falcons are and being from the western part of the state, I hope they get to prove it and don't get caught up in all the hype thats been thrown there way..

Sure, any team can be beat. I never said they couldn’t.

 

I assure you Fort Campbell doesn’t think teams are just going to roll over. This team is very well coached, very talented, and very experienced. Could they lose to Trigg or Murray, of course they could, but I don’t think they will. That isn’t hype; it is my opinion based on watching them.

Their schedule is what it is. By comparison (which I already posted a couple of weeks ago) it is a tougher schedule then the last two years. How does Trigg and Murray’s schedule look?

 

Ok, Trigg beat up on Ballard Memorial, they beat Caldwell by 1, won against Reidland and Heath. Their only decent win was against HCC in a 6-0 shootout. Trigg might be improving as the year progresses, but so is Fort Campbell and I still say they aren’t 30-40 points close to Fort Campbell.

I'd like to address this comment. I think that there is a VERY SMALL chance that there are some players that could possibly have that thought for a second....and I mean a second. Those kinds of thoughts show up, and become evident, on the practice field.....and it's on the practice field that the coaching staff (led by Coach Berner) will eliminate those thoughts and keep them from growing any bigger.

 

The point that I'm trying to make is, that since we're dealing with kids here, it's inevitable that some of them may fall into that "we're gonna roll over every team" mentality....however, this is a VERY WELL coached team that won't allow that kind of mentality to fester and take over the entire team.

 

When the whistle blows, the Fort Campbell Falcons know what they have to do to win, and they do it.

 

Like you, UK fball fan, I want to see the best team on the field come championship game day......I just believe that FC is the best team.

I dont forsee any major upsets in the region. Trigg County has to get past the OCath stigma that has plagued them in recent years. Having the game at home helps but they lost at home to them last year.

 

Should Trigg get past OCath in the first round, I can see them giving Fort Campbell a tougher time in the second round than Murray in the third round, even though that would be Fort Campbell's lone road game until Bowling Green.

 

Traditionally, Fort Campbell has struggled coming out of the bye week but that was not the case this year. I dont think they overlook anyone. I do think they were looking ahead a bit during the first half of last year's game with Monroe County and righted the ship in the second half thanks to Josh Carter carrying the defense. I dont think that will be an issue this year. And barring anything out of the ordinary, I dont see anyone coming within 30 points of them before they get to Bowling Green.

I think the reference you're talking about was in a thread about Murray and several people were saying Murrays schedule was weak and when they play Ft Campbell that would tell them more and I responded by saying they could lose by 40 to Ft Campbell and it not mean a whole lot, because the Falcons have beaten everyone else by that much, too. I just didn't think that was a good barameter of how good Murray possibly was... I don't, by the way, think Murray is a great team, but, I do think they're a very good team with some pretty nice size in the trenches and some good looking athletes in the skill positions... Ft Campbell, if they meet the Tigers, will likely handle them by 28+ pts, but, Murray is certainly good enough that if they get a break here and there, make a big play or 2 and hang around and build some confidence, could pull an upset...

 

My point of all this is simple...I wanna see the Falcons go all the way and three peat...I've been hyping them all year, but, I also remember hyping them 3 and 4 yrs ago when I felt they had the best team in West Ky in 2a and they fell on there faces... Just hoping they stay grounded and realize it's not going to be as easy as people on these message boards are making it out to be...

An unbelieveable amount of key strokes have been made on a team that you haven't seen in action! FC doesn't require any outside "hype". Please come to the Fort and witness the difference between hype and reality.
