inorout Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Heard this one was a great one until Male knocked out Shelby's QB, then I heard the Dogs took control. Any word on the QB at Shelby?
ColonelMike Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Wondered how anyone could keep the Shelby offense scoreless in an entire half (Rockets did not score in the second half)
Oxnard Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 The rain and wet conditions, plus the QB injury, had to greatly inhibit the Shelby County offense. However, as in so many other previous big games for Shelby, the defense was once again lacking.
ColonelMike Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 Shelby doesn't have an overwhelming defense, that's for sure, but they generally don't need one. A bigger problem for the Rockets is the fact that - if Cresap (the QB) is out - they have no backup who can pull the trigger on this offense. Of course, I'm not sure there's more than a handful of quarterbacks in KY who could direct it. With him in the lineup, Shelby is a frightening team with the ball... Cresap's a special talent, and with him out, Shelby becomes very average in a hurry. With Cresap, Shelby's a lot of fun to watch. Hope the young man is back to action soon.
Oxnard Posted October 10, 2009 Posted October 10, 2009 You are right in that they can usually outscore most other teams, except when they run into the good ones. In my opinion, until they develop some semblance of a decent defense, the Rockets will never get over the upper echelon hump.
PAPA PIGSKIN Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Cresap got hurt with under 3-4 minutes to go in the game. It wasnt like he was out the whole 2nd half? Male must have figured something out at half? Cresap was going to the dr today after being at the emergency room all night. Thought it was something wrong with the AC joint? Hope hes alright!!!

That is impressive. I've seen Shelby's attack; it's awfully hard to stop.
BIGDAWG11 Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Male put a lot of pressure on the QB in the 2nd half.
ColonelMike Posted October 11, 2009 Posted October 11, 2009 Male put a lot of pressure on the QB in the 2nd half. Male puts a lot of pressure on all QBs, but while that's usually to their advantage, it also opens them up to the big play. I've seen Cresap under fire before; figured he would handle it and with Shelby's athletes at WR, figured they'd move the ball well. Guess not! Kudos to the Bulldogs!

The weather conditions helped also.
