MountainThunder Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 It was a very exciting night. North jumped out to an early lead and Whitley responded & came back to take the first set. North took the final 2 sets to get the win. JV: NL 2 WC 1 Frosh: WC 2 NL 1 (Whitley did not have a full frosh team so they did play a few sophs, but this was approved in advance. There were some fireworks when a brief scuffle ensued after the JV game was over and the teams were shaking hands.
Dlbdonn Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Two JV Volleyball teams in a slight altercation:eek:!!
The Breeze Posted October 6, 2009 Posted October 6, 2009 Scuffle in volleyball! Wow, what was the end result of that throw down? Red cards, yellow cards? Interesting turn of events.

That's what I thought as well. A first for me! One ejection, which disallowed that player from participating in the varsity game and she won't be able to play on Tuesday. The officials didn't see what started it (nor did I), but they did apparently see how it finished. The players and coaches quickly had the 2 players seperated and 50 feet apart before I realized what had happened. Apparently, there was a comment about a specific parent in the stands made by a player, the comment was heard by the daughter on the opposing team and it was not well received. There were no incidents to report from the varsity game, but both sets of fans were pretty fired up and very vocal. Nothing bad or negative at all, just very supportive and LOUD for a small volleyball crowd.

I'm like you; watched a few volleyball games and not seen anything like this and in the shake-up line to boot.:scared:
MountainThunder Posted October 7, 2009 Author Posted October 7, 2009 I guess they consider one night of frosh/jv/varsity games as 1 game, so if you are ejected in one of those games, it rolls over to the next game or combo of games. The player ejected was not allowed to play on Tuesday night either. Apparently, the incident stemmed from some comments during the actual jv game, and it spilled over into the handshake line. And I thought 'yo momma' jokes were a guy thing!
