Who does Corbin start this year?

My guess is...

Madison Johnson, Isaac Wilson, Aaron Manns, Josh Hopkins, Travis Smith

with Mathew Taylor, Luke Stewart, Brody Freeman, Hunter Sizemore and others coming off the bench. Of course, if Caleb Watkins were to have decided to play this year, he would be in the top 7 for sure. He will be greatly missed by his teammates this year for sure.

South is loaded at guard. Their depth is unreal. They will have the best JV team in the area. I don't know if Clontz will play down any but with Mitchell, Sears and Sanders they will have a lot of quality young kids. Michell and Sears are skilled athletic kids. I haven't heard much about Sanders other than he has decent skills. He could be at the wrong place at the wrong time with this many good ball players at South right now.

Ditto Les...Manns will be very aggressive and is probably the only guy in the 13th that can effectively guard St John. Thats why I think it will be a 4 on 4 game between South and Corbin...advantage Corbin.

 

Honestly, I would say advantage South Laurel ... right now, but until they beat Corbin I'm staying with the Hounds.

 

Taking away Josh Smith and Josh Crawford is going to be huge this year. I don't think a lot of people are thinking about that. Smith was a great defender and was underrated offensivley, too. He made a lot of big shots last year.

 

Also, Crawford was a team leader and not having his presence there will hurt, especially on the boards. St. John has dropped 15 pounds and is in the best shape of his life ... IMO.

Honestly, I would say advantage South Laurel ... right now, but until they beat Corbin I'm staying with the Hounds.

Your points make perfect sense but my reason for "advantage Corbin" is due to the size advantage that Corbin will have over the 4 guards that South will put on the floor most of the time. Youre right about Crawford and J.Smith but Corbin had a bunch of really good JV players last year that had to sit because of all of the senior talent. Corbin's JV only lost 1 game after getting all of their players back from football and injuries plus they had the task of playing against those seniors in practice everyday. Besides Wilson, Corbin will have 3 or 4 people capable of handling the ball when needed. It will be a very competitive game each and every time these guys play.

I respect your opinion, but there is no way, and no how, Clay County will be ranked No. 1 after the loss of Hooker.:ohbrother: Heck, like I've stated a million times before, the Tigers haven't even won a region tourney game during the past three years and they're going to be the team to beat? :confused:

So they lose Hooker, and South has St. John, Watkins, Gilbert and a cast of others - including two new players that ARE solid and you add who Corbin, THE DEFENDING REGION CHAMPS, have returning along with picking up Hunter Sizemore and there is now way Clay is the best team. Heck, I'm not sure if they are better than Knox Central.
