Centers played in the JV game against Ryle the other day and was completely shut down - while Ryle played many of their Freshman starters for most of that JV game. Pulice went off and had numerous runs and catches - 2 TD's, etc. I don't get where you're coming from. I only wish Morris and Collins would have played, too. Not sure why they didn't - that would have been at least one way to see how the Cooper Frosh and Ryle Frosh stack up.

 

Good point on the Beechwood example, Jar, I'll have to reconsider and agree - so, IMO, this year, Ryle is better than Cooper - but Cooper is at least in the discussion.

Don't get me wrong. IMO Ryle has the best freshmen team in NKY. I just see a lot of Ryle fans not giving Cooper any RESPECT. They have a good team. No matter who they are playing.

You guys need to understand that the head coach at Cooper didnt know what he had coming as freshman this year. He put them in the middle bracket so they could get a more even competition. Borchers was not aware of the talent that was coming. Sure Cooper and Ryle both have great teams and i wish they could play a game , but thats not going to be the case this year. I think that alot of you on here need to watch what you say about kids! I think this group of freshman are a good group of kids on and off the feild. I also think it is great we have all this talent in NKY , we can enjoy watching all these kids grow and become men. I have had the priviledge of coaching alot of kids at Ryle and Cooper they are all good kids !

I absolutely agree, great kids at both schools! Like you, I have had the opportunity to watch these kids grow through the years and are becoming great young men.

Two years ago when the Ryle freshmen only loss was to S.K. and Highlands who Ryle beat got to play S.K. in the championship. The Ryle coaches, players, and FANS, cried for months they should be in the championship game. If Cooper end the season with out a loss they have the right to claim they are the best also. So unless you play them your going to hear it. And from what I am hearing they want too. Its Ryle saying no. I know the kids would be willing to play one extra at the end of the season. :taz:

I know their schedule is full. :deadhorse: In past years I have heard of freshmen teams getting together for an extra game when the season is over. I'm just asking, can they do that??? But if you were on BGP two years ago in Dec. of 07 their were still a ton of Ryle people not letting it go.

Yes I was here in 07. Maybe fans were still upset, but the coaches were not . I have been around freshman football for the past 6 years and I have never seen any freshman teams play an extra game after the season is over.

Khsaa will not allow this, if I'm not mistaken, that would against the rules.

Centers only got 3 plays running the ball . Cant see how you can say that. Your not comparing apples to apples here. Cooper is only a 4a school playing a 6a school look at the #s .

It doesn't matter what league cooper is playing in, they are not ready. Sure, they can compete with Scott, maybe Holmes and Newport, and several of the 1A schools. That is because Cooper has some talent and are headed in the right direction. But I am tired of hearing about being a smaller school. You are a public high school in Boone Co. If the administration allows the coaching staff to do their job, you will eventually (??) be competing for a playoff berth. Accept the situation. It's called developing interest in the program...that usually occurs through winning not whining. :thumb:

You are totally correct with your response. Develope your players, and winning will take care of itself. No sense in whining about it, deal with it and make the best of it.

Numbers doesn't matter. You might be a 4a school with enrollment, but your athletics play in 6a. I know that is not the coaches choice, that was from the administration. So IMO numbers don.t matter. So I have no chioce but to compare apples to apples here. And they look the same, 2 6a programs playing.:dancingpa

How can you say #s don't matter you give me 90 kids to pic from, or 45 and I'll beat you every time! No whining here we will see in a couple years when Cooper has 80 - 90 kids.

Only thing I can say is look at Beechwood freshman last year, maybe they had 35 players and they beat every big school team up in NKY. 5a or 6a schools it didn't matter they won. Correct me if I am wrong, they are 1a school. Like I said numbers doesn't matter. So your theory, if you have numbers you could beat anyone, at anytime is false.
