One of the things historically in this rivalry is if Boyle is a heavy favorite, Danville shows up big time. When Boyle wins in a blowout it usually is expected to be a tough game and Boyle plays on that edge all game. (2000, 2003, 2008 are examples IMO)

 

Danville hangs tough when pregame experts don't expect them too. (ala 2002, 2001 come to mind)

Sometimes fear of how bad it could be brings the talent out in a young team. Kudos to Sam Harp for getting this team ready.
