August 16, 200917 yr It's hard to go against the GMen, they've done it with a cast of RBs ranging from Tiki to Jacobs and company. I don't see how the loss of Ward can make the Giants better but they still have a talented guy in Bradshaw and Ware. With LenDale losing 30 5ths, and Johnson being the stud he is, I'm going to go with the Titans this season. Collins isn't anywhere close to Eli talent wise at this point of his career, so that makes what Tennessee has done even more impressive.
August 16, 200917 yr Oakland? Oakland? Dallas? Dallas was 21st in rushing offense last year. Oakland was 10th. Neither have top elite running games. I'm not sure how, with the offensive line included in the discussion, the Vikings are the clear cut #1. I think they have the best running back, but I don't think they have the best rushing game. The Giants, Panthers, Falcons and Ravens were all better last year. You are talking about last year and I'm talking about this year. Does Dallas have a mammouth line? Will they be running the ball more this year? Dallas and Oakland I said 1-3 backs. Who has a better stable of 3 backs than Oakland and Dallas? Like I said I would take the Williams/Stewart duo as the best 2 back combo with AP/Taylor right there with them because AP is so good but if you are talking about a 3 back duo Barber/Jones/Choice are as good as it gets. Dmac/Bush/Fargas aren't too shabby! I really wish Bush had gone somewhere else becasue I think he is bigtime when he gets his shot. Turner is a bruiser and Norwood had the best yd per carry I think. LT/Sproles aren't a bad combo eiher. Ravens have a nice 3 back gig but I think Magahee is going downhill fast. Jets have quitly put a nice package together and have a nice Oline. I'd say NY, Tenn, Minn, Dallas have the top 4 in whatever order. Balt will be up there because they run so much.
August 16, 200917 yr I'd take Jacobs/Bradshaw/Ware over Fargas/McFadden/Bush any day of the week. I'd take a lot of combo's over those 3. None had over 1000 yards last year and I don't see any doing it this year either. Dallas is not in the top 5 in rushing offense. They're not even top 10 right now. The Giants, Titans, Panthers, Falcons, Vikings, Ravens, Patriots, Jets, Redskins, etc all have better run games than the Cowboys IMO. The Cowboys could prove me wrong and be great this year, that is the beauty of the NFL. But they'll have to prove it to me before I put them near the top IMO.

Skins have about worn Portis down I'm afraid. Jets have an intriguing group with a nice Oline. I know you hate Dallas but it's pretty hard to argue against Barber being one of the best finishers in the game...Jones being really explosive and Choice proving he is a solid NFL back. They also have an Oline that is built to run the ball. I've got the feeling you will be proven wrong on this one. We'll see. Dmac/Bush are young but I look for them to break out this year.
August 16, 200917 yr The Pats had the 6th best rushing game in the NFL last year. They didn't have one dynamic guy, but they ran the ball well. The Skins ran well last year too finishing in the top 10 in rushing. It has nothing to do with my hate for Dallas. They did nothing in the rushing game last year and at this point that's all we have to base it on, right? They might turn it around with Jones coming back, but right now I'm going on what I have when I give my opinion on who is the best. Dallas has shown me nothing to make me think they're a top 5 rushing team.

Like I said the Skins have put so much of a work load on Portis I hope he can stay healthy. Dallas lost T.O. and get Jones back. Top 5? Top 10? I don't know but I fully expect them to have a very talented running game THIS YEAR based on the people they have lining up this year. Jones is a threat to take it too the house. Choice filled in looking like a #1 back last year and Barber is probably a top 2 goal line/hit you in the mouth back in the league. Looks like a nice stable of talent too me. No T.O. on top of that means they should be running the rock this year. I like where Dallas is sitting. I have said Philly and NY are probably the 2 favorites and definatly in the top 5. Everybody is sleeping on Dallas. I like it!
August 16, 200917 yr I don't think Philly will be top 5. Westbrook is aging and the surgeries will wear on him.
August 16, 200917 yr I don't think Philly will be top 5. Westbrook is aging and the surgeries will wear on him. I agree he is a huge question that's why I loved their draft. JJ is a HUGE loss and as much as I didn't like Dawkins he was the heart and soul of their defense. The Vick saga will make it interesting too. They are uber talented especially on offense. Now back to the Titans/Giants:lol:
August 16, 200917 yr When healthy Westbrook will still perform at a very high level, and from what I've heard, McCoy is a very good replacement. I don't see Philly struggling in the running game this season.
August 16, 200917 yr Author Well, since I can't have the most talented (Vikings), I'll go with the Titans.:thumb:

I don't see Philly struggling in the running game this season. We'll see I guess. I'm not sure Reid has what it takes to run the ball very often anyways. They seem to get away from the run a lot...or they used to anyways.

They had a very favorable schedule last year that allowed them to play a good number of bottom tier rush defenses. I think their past rushing success (numbers-wise) owes a lot to the presence and production of Michael Vick. JMO But, again, I had in mind true combo backfields, like you see in NY, Tennessee and Carolina. To be fair, I didn't state that clearly in the initial post.

Regardless, I think the Giants have the best offensive line. They've been together for a while and have produced numerous different 1000 yard backs. The running backs aren't bad either. I'm curious to see how Bradshaw does with more playing time, and I hope Danny Ware gets some action as well. But if Jacobs stays healthy, he should get 1,200 yards.

Dallas has shown me nothing to make me think they're a top 5 rushing team. Just under 2300 yards at 4.4 ypc. And 21 TD. That's what the Pats produced. I think their line is better at run blocking than pass blocking. Brady is just so smart and savvy and they pass so much, they get credit for the opposite. JMO FWIW, I'd take the Giants over the Titans...both o-line and backs, just based on talent. My concern is Jacobs inability to play 16 games. If Chris Johnson improves and builds on last year, and Jacobs gets hurt again, it could alter my opinion. In reality though, I agree with your earlier assessment. There are 4 or 5 times that you could flip a coin with. Giants, Titans, Panthers and Vikings for sure.
