Track the Braves (2nd Half- Week 2)

Featured Replies

Coming out of the All-Star break taking 3 of 4 from the Mets at Turn Field the Braves will now face the red hot San Fransisco Giants in another 4 game series.

Braves currently sit 4.5 games out of the Wildcard lead behind the Giants. This is a huge series for the Braves who look to remain on a hot streak.

Probable pitching matchups

Monday- Giants (Sanchez) vs. Atlanta (Hanson) @ 7:00pm

Tuesday- Giants (Sadowski) vs. Atlanta (Lowe) @7:00pm

Wednesday- Giants (Lincecum) vs. Atlanta (Jurrjens) @ 7:00pm

Thursday- Giants (Zito) vs. Atlanta (Kawakami) 1:00pm

I see this series as about as even as you can get. Atlanta has a great chance to take 3 of 4 from the Giants at home but if the offense struggles I could see them losing 3 of 4.

Atlanta is playing well, but Philadelphia simply isn't losing.

Philly isn't losing, unless they play Atlanta :D.

The Braves swept them in their last series. I think the Braves best move was sending KJ to the DL and putting Martin Prado in at 2B. They have been playing well lately even though McLouth hasn't gotten a hit since the all-star break. It would be nice if he could get hot too. Also I think Garrett Anderson has been playing much better ball, and the Diaz/Church combo in right field is going to work out well as well IMO.

McClouth shouldn't be put in the leadoffspot, he simply doesn't do well there.

He's the best leadoff hitter Atlanta has IMO and was doing pretty good before the all star break.

Braves win again, Phillies win again....

The Phillies will be unstoppable as long as Rollins is on fire.

Braves are gaining some ground on the Wild Card though. Currently sitting 4 GB behind Colorado.

Hanson is the real deal and is flat out phenomenal.

Hanson had 11K's tonight right? Braves were awesome tonight. Nice to see Church hit a homer.

Yeah Hanson had 11 strike outs. Ties most strike outs by a rookie this season.

Braves are solid but the Phillies are my pick to win it all again. They can flat out hit the ball & I love the Rollins / Victorino combo.

How has Church done in ATL?

Church had been doing OK thus far, but he had been rotating in with Matt Diaz in right field. Against right handed pitchers Church plays, and Diaz against lefties. He hit a homer and had 2-3 RBI's tonight I think.

Church is adjusting but is playing solid.

Braves have a strong pitching rotation and short of the Phillies falling flat on their face the Braves only hope is the Wild Card.

Braves playing well again tonight. Up 8-1 in the 9th.

I'm just praying the Cubs can get it done in extras against the Phillies. They gotta lose sometime! This is ridiculous!
